ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi visited Shanghai Naval Base and called on Shanghai Naval Base Commander Rear Admiral Wang Jianxun.
The naval chief, who is on an official visit to China, was received by the Shanghai Naval Base commander. A smartly turned out contingent of People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) clad in their ceremonial dress presented him the guard of honour.
Later, the naval chief visited a Chinese navy ship. The naval chief was briefed onboard by the commanding officer of the ship. The naval chief also interacted with the ship’s crew and appreciated their professional competence.
The visit would greatly augment the bilateral cooperation between both the countries in general and the navies in particular.
