ISLAMABAD: As if taking cue from his counterpart at the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz, who is in UK these days and his Administration Member Yasir Pirzada, who is on a three-week leave, CDA Chairman Usman Akhtar Bajwa too has gone on leave with effect from April 15 to April 28, 2018, according to office order.
Dr Fahad Haroon Aziz, who is a member of the Finance at CDA, has been given look after charge in the meantime. According to the notification, a copy available with Pakistan Today, Usman Bajwa has left for a study tour. It is pertinent to mention here that the CDA chairman was accompanying Islamabad Chief Commissioner Aftab Akbar Durrani.
In the meantime, Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmed has been given look after charge of the Commissioner’s Office. Talking to Pakistan Today, CDA spokesperson Malik Salim said that the foreign trip of the chairman was nothing out of ordinary and was business as usual. “There is no need to read much in it. It is an official visit and the chairman will be back in a fortnight,” he said.
However, officials at CDA are of the opinion that deputationists in the civic agency are trying their level best to either get back to their parent department or to some low profile organisation unlike CDA who is on watch-list of Supreme Court, Public Accounts Committee, National Accountability Bureau and FIA among other watchdogs and investigation bodies.
