ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Power Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari on Monday said that there was no load shedding on 5,297 feeders functioning in different parts of the country.

“Those consumers who were not paying electricity bills would have to face load shedding in their respective areas,” he said while talking to a private news channel.

To a question, Leghari said there had been 12 to18 hours load shedding in the past.

“Load shedding could be ended till June if two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) power plants start functioning,” he said.

As far as the matter of load shedding in Karachi areas was concerned, he said that the NEPRA was looking after the affairs of K-Electric. The problem of load shedding would be addressed after the provision of gas to K-Electric, he added.

To another question, he said usually, the ministry issues the press release on a daily basis regarding the shortfall of electricity.
