ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Balochistan is working without a head after Lashkari Raisani resigned on November 15 from the post of provincial president under the pretext that the central leadership was neglecting the workers and their efforts for the party.
“The workers are disappointed by the leadership,” he said. Raisani had already been sacked by President Asif Zardari before he presented his resignation, a source inside PPP said, adding that a committee had been formed under Jehangir Badar to resolve issues in party organization in Balochistan.
The committee has so far failed to prepare any plan, he said, adding that PPP’s opponents were gearing up to dislodge the PPP-led government in Balochistan because of this weakness in party’s tactics, mentioning the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) and Jamiat-e-Uleema-e-Islam (Fazal)’s recent meetings.
Talking to Pakistan Today, Raisani said he will not take his resignation back and no head had been appointed yet. He also denied being sacked before his resignation. He admitted that a committee constituting Jahangir Badar, Khurshid Shah and Ijaz Jakhrani had been framed to look into the reasons behind his resignation but had not presented any report yet.
“My resignation has not been accepted but I am no longer the president of the party in Balochistan,” he added.
