Wrestler Bilal wins third bronze for Pakistan in CW18

GOLD COAST: Pakistan won the third bronze in Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 on Thursday when the wrestler Muhammad Bilal from Gujranwala won the medal after defeating his English opponent.

Bilal completely dominated the match and defeated George Ramm by a score of  3:1 on the points.

In initial matches, he defeated Charles Fernando Divoshan of Sri Lanka and Gary Giordmaina of Malta but lost the match against India’s Rahul Aware in the semi-final.

Earlier two bronze medals have been won by weightlifters, 18-year-old Talha Talib and 20-year-old Noor Dastagir, also hail from Gujranwala.

Talib was the first athlete to win a medal for Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2018 after he lifted 283kg in a weightlifting category of 62kg.

Dastgir lifted 395kg while participating in the category of +105kg.
