LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that Pakistan was the home of all and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab were the four federating units combined in a string and Azad Kashmir was also an important part, adding that the country would only prosper when all of its federating units progress.

CM Shehbaz expressed these views while talking to PML-N leader from Sindh Senator Saleem Zia who called on him. The matters of mutual interest and political affairs were discussed in the meeting. Provincial minister for school education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan was also present on the occasion.

The Punjab CM said that there was a need to promote the culture of politics of ‘us’ for the welfare of 22 crore people because the people of only wanted a resolution of their problems, progress and prosperity. “Those doing the negative politics of allegations and lies are the biggest hurdle in the way of progress and prosperity of the country,” he added.

He said 22 crore people during the last five years had realised that the leadership of the PML-N made sincere efforts to resolve their problems, adding that those who held sit-ins and lockdown had wasted the precious time.

“Our government performed excellently to resolve problems of the people, and the agenda of public performance and prosperity has been advanced despite hurdles and for this reason, PML-N has become the most popular party of the country and our performance is in front of the public,” Shehbaz told the PML-N leaders.

He said the ‘dharna group’ raised empty slogans to make new Pakistan. He said change only come through public service, not through empty claims. He said that those who made claims of change had made records of lies and U-turns and these elements had distorted the shape of old Pakistan in their province. He said if Allah Almighty gave the chance of ruling the country again in the elections then they would establish records of prosperity and progress in KP, and Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta would be made developed cities like Lahore.

The PML-N senator Zia said the Punjab chief minister was working day and night for the resolution of problems of the people. “We want to make Punjab a ‘role model’ province for the other provinces and are ready to make untiring efforts for this purpose. The development of the people of Punjab represents the vision of the chief minister,” he added.

He said that everyone praised the extraordinary hard work of the chief minister for the exemplary progress of Punjab.
