PESHAWAR: The District Council Peshawar session on Tuesday was disrupted by members of the opposition and provincial government protesting over the non-issuance of development funds which was followed by a walkout to demonstrate their solidarity with the Muslims of Kashmir and Palestine.

Opposition member Rehemdil Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Noor Wali Khan protested on the non-issuance of development funds and then stood on benches to raise the slogan ‘Go Nazim Go’ in the session which was being presided over by Convener Syed Qasim Ali Shah.

Moments before the protest erupted, the two members had accused Peshawar’s mayor of financial embezzlement.

Moreover, the Peshawar mayor along with other members of the district council staged a walkout on Safdar Baghi’s call in a bid to express solidarity with the Muslim population of Kashmir, Rohingya and Palestine.
