Soldier martyred in Mastung IBO

RAWALPINDI: A security personnel embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mastung district of Balochistan, the Pakistan Army’s media cell said on Saturday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said while one soldier was martyred in the exchange of fire, the security forces killed an alleged militant in retaliation.

Security forces planned and conducted the IBO in Kabu area of the district as part of the ongoing nationwide Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, the ISPR added.

Two suspected terrorists were injured in the operation while a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from their hideout.

In a separate IBO in Shararah Algad area of North Waziristan, the security forces seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, according to the ISPR.

The seized arms included sub-machine guns, rocket launchers, self-propelled guns, mortars, light machine guns, pistols, rifles, grenades, and a huge quantity of various calibre ammunition and accessories of various weapons, the press statement added.
