KASUR: The Kasur police have failed to find any clues regarding two children, who went missing from outside their houses last week.

According to the details, five-year-old Muhammad Faiq went to a nearby shop to buy candies on Saturday evening but did not return. His family, relatives and other locals tried their best to find the child, but all in vain.

The second child, Adnan Hanif, went missing from Kot Sajjawal in the jurisdiction of the Khudian police station. The 12-year-old is a student of the sixth class and is missing for the past one week.

According to the details, the B-division police on Sunday had registered a case pertaining to Faiq’s abduction, but have so far failed to recover him. After the locals announced demonstrating a protest against the police’s negligence, Kasur DPO Zahid Nawaz Marawat visited the family of the abducted child on Tuesday and assured full cooperation in recovering the minor.

Faiq is a student of the first grade and his father is an army official. The DPO has constituted different teams under the supervision of SP investigation but the policemen are reportedly wasting their time in other activities instead of finding the child.

On the other hand, the Khudian police seem to be negligent towards Adnan’s abduction as they have stated that the child “might have had a clash with his family and subsequently ran away”.

Speaking to Pakistan Today, Sheikhupura range RPO DIG Zulifqar Hameed said that first information reports (FIRs) have been registered in both the cases and the police are probing the incident. He expressed hope that both the abducted children would soon be traced.
