Army soldier among three dead in Okara, Bhakkar accidents

OKARA/BHAKKAR: At least three people including a soldier of Pakistan Army and a vice chairman of union council (UC) died while another injured in separate road accidents in Okara and Bhakkar on Sunday.

Police said that a car returning from a wedding ceremony in Lahore collided with an over speeding truck near Kelo Town at the Kasur Road in Hujra Shah Muqeem in Okara district.

Two including vice chairman of UC Chhachh Kalan identified as Chaudhry Waheed Zaman Ashiq and Sajid Ali Bhatti died on the spot while a land revenue officer Sabir Ali was seriously injured. The car was adversely damaged in the collision and the truck driver fled the scene abruptly.

A soldier of Pakistan Army identified as Nazeer Ahmed Awan died when an over speeding passenger bus knocked down a motorcycle at Dalianwala Road in Darya Khan of Bhakkar. The bus driver fled the scene of accident.

The bodies and injured of both incidents were shifted to different hospitals of their respective areas. Police have registered separate cases at concerned police stations and started the investigations.

On Saturday, three children died while their parents and another were critically injured after an over speeding passenger coach hit a motorcycle. According to the police, a Rawalpindi bound passenger coach knocked down a bike carrying a couple and their four children while trying to overtake a Hiace van on the Sargodha-Bhalwal Road near Chak 21 Risala.
