Three children dead, three others including parents injured in road mishap

SARGODHA: Three children died while their parents and another were critically injured after an over speeding passenger coach hit a motorcycle here on Saturday.

According to the police, a Rawalpindi bound passenger coach knocked down a bike carrying a couple and their four children while trying to overtake a Hiace van on the Sargodha-Bhalwal Road near Chak 21 Risala.

Nine-year-old twins, Abdullah and Quratul Ain died on the spot while their parents, seven-year sister Ayesha and a minor brother were injured.

The drivers of the passenger coach and the van fled the scene, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where Ayesha also succumbed to her wounds raising the death toll to three.

The injured father, Allah Bukhsh, a PAF employee was taking his children to PAF School Sargodha where the annual results of the deceased children were to be announced.

The police impounded both the vehicles and after registering a case against the drivers at large have started the investigation.
