ISLAMABAD: The Division Bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday rejected former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s plea for a bulletproof vehicle for his security.

IHC Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani announced the decision, saying that Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry could enjoy the privileges offered under Judges Pension Order only.

The former CJP had moved the court through ex-president Lahore High Court Bar (LHCB) Advocate Sheikh Ahsan-ud-din.

The IHC Division Bench had annulled the single bench’s decision regarding the provision of a bulletproof vehicle to the ex-CJP and had returned the case for reissuing a decision after hearing all stakeholders.

However, upon Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s refusal, the case was sent to the new bench. Justice Mohsin after hearing the arguments had reserved the decision which was then announced on Friday.
