KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that ‘waderas’ (feudals) have yet not been defeated in Karachi’s ‘ideological’ politics since the elected representatives of the megacity sold their votes in the recent Senate elections.

Addressing a meeting at Karachi Press Club (KPC), he demanded that the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) should tell the people of Karachi that for how much money was their mandate sold. He further asked the chief justice of Pakistan should to take notice of the horse trading in Senate elections.

He said we will not leave the people of Karachi alone and will develop a new leadership based on youth to resolve the issues of the city. He regretted the problems faced by the people of Karachi including the lack of clean water, electricity and unemployment.
