ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday upheld the stay order on all clauses of Khatam-e-Nabuwat included in the election act 2017 till verdict.
Deputy Attorney General Arshad Mehmood Kiyani appeared before the court on behalf of the federation while Hafiz Arfat and Kashifa advocated on behalf of the petitioner. Legal expert Akram assisted the court.
The court associate tabled the government reports regarding Qadianis before the court and made astonishing reveals.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui observed that some 10,525 persons switched from Qadianiat to Muslim in their CNICs. Most of the persons obtained a Muslim CNIC in order to get a government job adding that at the age of sixty after retirement these government servants had adopted the Qadianiat religion again.
It was also revealed that some six thousand Qadianis have travelled abroad after retirement.
Court Associate Akram said that the Saudi government imposed a ban on the entry of specified persons in the holy place.
“Qadianis are not allowed to adopt Islamic values,” he said while adding that there was a fear of hurting the feelings of Muslims if Qadianis adopted Islamic values.
He said that the rights of minorities were enshrined in the religion and constitution of the country adding that it was necessary for the protection of rights of minorities that Qadianis should have a separate identity as a non-Muslim. Actions should be taken against those Qadianis who got their religion changed on their CNIC. He further said that it was necessary to take an affidavit of Khatam–e–Nabuwat at the time of getting a CNIC.
The court associate also said that the Supreme Court had disqualified former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for submitting a fake affidavit.
Later, the court has adjourned the hearing of the case till Monday.
