Supreme Court to decide PSL 3 winner

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)

DUBAI/ISLAMABAD – In the star studded opening ceremony of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League on Thursday, it was announced that the Supreme Court will be announcing the winner of PSL 3.

The decision has been taken keeping in line with recent developments, and last year’s spot-fixing scandal, to ensure that the most honest come out as the winners of the coveted trophy, Pakistan Cricket Board sources told The Dependent.

“The petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, and a three-member bench will give the verdict over the winners of PSL 3 on March 25,” a PCB official confirmed.

PCB sources further confirmed that the case pending with the apex court will also decide which players, coaches, teams and even commentators are qualified for their job and those that aren’t.

“Everyone has to qualify as per Article 62 and 63 of Pakistan’s Constitution,” a PSL official confirmed, adding that there is no better way to ensure that there is no corruption in the game.

“Corruption is the biggest problem hindering the growth of Pakistan cricket,” leading political analyst Haroon Rashid said while lauding the move to present the PSL case in the apex court.

“There’s no higher authority than the Supreme Court to make these decisions.”
