ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday rejected Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) plea for more time to be granted in appeal plea filed by the federation against Axact. IHC also issued notices to all concerned parties.
A two-member bench of IHC, comprising of Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the case.
Raja Rizwan Abbasi and Advocate Imdad Ali appeared in the court on behalf of Axact.
Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Raja Khalid told the court that FIA had appointed a public prosecutor in the case to which Rizwan Abbasi replied by saying that as per Supreme Court’s (SC) directives, government departments cannot hire the services of a public prosecutor.
The court remarked that the court will hear the stance of all parties involved and will decide the case on merit in accordance with the directives of SC.
The court ordered that the records furnished by FIA be provided to the counsel for Axact. The court decided to hear the case on day to day basis.
Federation also challenged additional district sessions judge’s decision of acquitting Shoaib Shaikh.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till February 22.
