Security forces clear train track after explosion in Balochistan, says ISPR
QUETTA: As a result of a bomb blast that hit the main railway line near Mangoli area of the Nasirabad district on Tuesday, two bogies of a Karachi-bound train were derailed.
According to the police, an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted at the track linking Balochistan with the rest of the country by unidentified men, who detonated it when the Bolan Mail was near the Mangoli area.
While the law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and have started probing into the incident, owing to the damaged part of the railway track the train service remained suspended for some time following the explosion.
Later in the day, security forces cleared the portion of the damaged track near Magoli railway station in the province’s Dera Murad Jamali area, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
ISPR said all passengers were shifted from the incident site under security provided by the Frontier Corps (FC).
The statement added that the passengers of the affected train were provided with the required administrative assistance during shifting from the train and subsequent movement towards Jacobabad
