KARACHI: Mohammad Ali Jinnah University President Dr Zubair Shaikh said the other day that it is the prime responsibility of the universities worldwide to promote research culture in their countries to help government and industry achieve their developments targets.
He expressed these views while visiting the concluding session of three-day long Business Research Reports Posters Exhibition of BBA and MBA students. The exhibition was organized by Business Research Centre of the University under the supervision of Assistant Professor Arshad Husain.
Dr Zubair said that he is very much satisfied with the research work of the students of MAJU who have presented their findings and recommendations on various trade and industry related issues.
About 40 reports were presented by the students in the exhibition.
MBA Banking and Finance students presented their reports on the issues of credit risk management, financial performance of conventional banks, a qualitative and quantitative study of corporate governance and its impact on commercial banks in Pakistan, impact of free cash flow on firm’s profitability of cement sector in Pakistan stock exchange, impact of dividend policy on share prices and measuring public attitude towards the Federal Bureau of Revenue’s efforts for increasing tax net.
On the other hand, the topics of MBA Human Resource students’ research reports included topics like the impact of Electronic-Human Resource Management activities on Human Resource employees’ satisfaction in Karachi, the impact of organizational stress on the performance of employees and impact of a changed management on the performance of the organisation.
MBA Marketing students’ research reports were based on subjects such as the impact of consumer behavior on consumer decision making, the role of customer satisfaction at Gul Ahmad Textile on brand equity and impact of perceived value, quality and brand image on consumer decision.
Lastly, MBA Supply Chain Management reports were presented on the logistics management, competitive advantage, retail supply chain management practices in Pakistan and a business intelligence perspective.
