ISLAMABAD: Senator Aitzaz Ahsan— while criticising the Punjab Government— said that the provincial government cannot claim to have handled the Zainab murder case well, especially when the facilitators are still out there.

Ahsan, while talking to a local media outlet, asked if Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had any plans on how to tackle the situation if the facilitators started issuing threats to Zainab’s family.

He also said that the matter of Kasur child pornography scandal is still unsolved and needs to be given attention to. He said that the case flashed all over the media but the provincial government didn’t care, adding that around 260 children were sexually abused in Kasur but the people involved in the crime are still roaming around freely in Punjab, threatening the victims and their mothers.

He was referring to the Kasur child abuse scandal that came into the forefront in 2015, involving a gang of men that had allegedly recorded as many as 400 videos of sexual abuse involving at least 280 children belonging to Hussain Khan Wala village near Kasur.

It was recognised as the largest child abuse scandal in the country’s history.
