DUNEDIN – After losing the first two ODIs in the ongoing series against New Zealand, Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed told his critics on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s third match, that they could watch the Champions Trophy final win against India on loop if it’s not possible for them to see the national cricket side lose any matches.
“In fact you should watch all four of our Champions Trophy wins, beginning from South Africa then the Sri Lanka match – where I played very well – then the semifinal win against England and then the final,” he said in a press conference before the beginning of the third ODI against New Zealand.
Sarfraz further told the critics, which included former captains and players, and many fans on social media, that watching the Champions Trophy final on loop shouldn’t be a new experience for them anyway.
“We didn’t play a lot cricket after that final so everyone, including of course us cricketers, were watching the final – or at least the highlights – over and over again,” he said.
“So yes, if you think we have to win every single bloody match that we get into, anytime, anywhere,” he concluded.
