Drive against quackery, unregistered medical stores begins in Lahore

LAHORE: The district administrations of all four districts in the division have been directed to launch a grand operation against unregistered medical stores and quackery.

Following the Punjab government’s instructions, the district administrations of Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali and Khushab have been asked to pay attention towards an operation against people violating the health council’s regulations.

An official from health department told APP that eradication of such elements was a priority of the provincial government, adding that there was a dire need to stop illegal practices for saving the lives of people.

The health department and district governments are also sorting the matter of quackery and illegal medical stores on a priority basis and a strict action will be taken against these elements.

The monitoring in this regard is also being done by a 3-member committee comprising of the deputy district health officer, drug inspector and concerned assistant commissioners.
