ISLAMABAD: The country’s civil and military leadership is likely to visit Saudi Arabia in the coming week, local media reported on Friday.
According to reports, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Naveed Mukhtar will be accompanying Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to Saudi Arabia on November 21. The prime minister will be holding a one-on-one meeting with the Saudi leadership, added the reports, citing sources.
Sources said that all arrangements for the high-level visit have been finalised.
PM Abbasi had made his maiden foreign tour as the Prime Minister of Pakistan in August and that too to Saudi Arabia. Foreign minister Khawaja Asif and finance minister Ishaq Dar accompanied the premier in the visit.
Abbasi performed Umrah and paid respects at Roza-i-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him).
He also convened meetings with Saudi leadership and exchanged views on United States (US) President Donald Trump’s policy on South Asia and situation in the region.
