LAHORE: Residents of Punjab will finally observe a decrease in the level of smog after the first rainfall of the season.
Punjab had been enveloped by polluted winds and fog throughout the last month because of which residents faced severe situations including difficulty in transport.
The recent rainfall had been predicted by the Met department and was avidly awaited by the local populace.
Lahore, Jhang, Pakpattan, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Okara, Bahawalnagar and Farooqabad witnessed little rainfall. Toba Tek Singh and Bhakkar welcomed rainfall that lasted for more than two hours and winter winds have started to cross Punjab.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Bannu also witnessed light rainfall. However, there is snowfall and heavy rain in southern Waziristan which has led to extreme cold conditions in the region. Dera Ismail Khan also welcomed light rainfall on Monday night.
