ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif at Punjab House on Monday.
The two discussed the ongoing political situation of the country, party affairs and matters of the government.
Several other party leaders and ministers, including National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Maryam Nawaz, Captain (r) Safdar, Asif Kirmani, Talal Chaudhry and State Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb were also present at Punjab House.
During the meeting, Ayaz Sadiq briefed the party chief over the ongoing consultations with other political parties on the delimitation bill which will pave the way for the next general elections in 2018.
At present, there is a deadlock between the government and opposition over the issue.
Nawaz Sharif then departed for Murree along with his daughter Maryam.
Speaking informally to reporters while leaving Punjab House, Nawaz Sharif stated that he is not the one to run away from courts.
“I have faced the courts before and will do so again. Those who wanted to avoid the courts have already fled the country,” he added.
