Civil-military leaderships agree to host PSL 3 final on new found common ground

SAME PAGE – After spending the previous week or so between the third and fourth paragraph of the same page, the civilian and military leaderships have agreed to host the final of next year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) final on the common ground that they’ve found, reliable sources have told The Dependent.

According to sources, the common ground that was found around the time US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was visiting, was finalised as the venue for the PSL 3 final after both civil and military leaders jointly agreed to ensure security for all cricket matches in the country.

“There is consensus across the board that between top civil and military leaders that there is no place better or safer to host the event, which would be bigger and better than the PSL 2 final,” a source privy to the meetings said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Karachi was earlier being peddled as the potential venue for the final. However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources confirm that following the latest developments, Karachi will host the playoffs, while the final is held on the common ground between civil and military policymaking.

In this regard the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the PCB have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which the CDA has allotted 35 acres of land near Shakarparian for the construction of common ground.
