MIANWALI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan turned his guns towards Sharif brothers and said that both Shehbaz Sharif and his brother former prime minister Nawaz Sharif have only fooled the nation.

While addressing a huge rally at his home ground Mianwali on Saturday, the PTI chief said that Shehbaz Sharif should stop fooling the nation. “Nawaz has laundered Rs300 billion but his family continues to be arrogant and fails to admit its crimes,” he added.

Imran Khan alleged that one of the brothers [Nawaz Sharif] wants to gain sympathy by questioning his ouster from public office by the Supreme Court while the other brother [Shehbaz Sharif] has not done anything to develop Punjab. He added that all of the development in Punjab is only in the advertisements printed to promote the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

“The crime and terrorism rate has gone down by seventy per cent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) after the PTI came to power in the province,” he said, adding that he will put the Punjab police on the right straight the same way he changed the police system in KP.

He also said that the only changes that the Punjab CM had brought to the police were using the taxpayers’ money to change the police uniform. “Through amendments and reforms, I am going to change the Punjab police force,” he said.

He asserted that he has been to various areas of the Mianwali district and observed that there was a dire need of improvement in police attitude.

Imran further stated that the KP government has made appointments to the police force purely through merit by utilising the National Testing System (NTS). He added that nothing will stop the nation from progressing if the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) are reformed.

The PTI chief also lamented that no politician had supported his initiative against corruption in the early days of his political career. He added that PTI would have never been one of the mainstream political parties without the support of people of Mianwali city.
