Rally held to condemn Indian occupation of Kashmir

LAHORE: The Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK) on Friday took out a protest rally in connection with the Black Day against illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India.

The day is observed every year to condemn Indian occupation of Kashmir valley on October 27, 1947.

YFK Chief Organiser Tariq Ehsan Ghuari led the rally, starting from the Punjab Assembly and ending at Lahore Press Club. Leaders of different political and religious parties, lawyers, trader organisations and a large number of Kashmiri students participated in the rally.

The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against bloodshed in Kashmir and terrorism by the Indian forces in the occupied Kashmir.

Addressing the participants, Tariq Ghauri said that the international community and the United Nations Organisation (UNO) should play their role in resolving the core issue of Kashmir. They said that a durable peace in South Asia could not be possible till settlement of the dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.

“Our struggle will continue until Kashmiris get their right to self-determination,” the speakers said.
