LAHORE: On Wednesday, a diabetes clinic was inaugurated at the Fatima Memorial Hospital, to curb the prevalence of the disease across Pakistan.
The clinic was inaugurated by Fatima Memorial Chairperson Shahima Rehman.
Diabetes continues to spread by epidemic proportions nationally and globally; hence dedicated diabetes service is the need of the hour in healthcare service. As per recent estimates, about one in four Pakistanis suffers from the disease.
The Fatima Memorial Hospital Diabetes Clinic was inaugurated to offer multi-disciplinary diabetes care which includes dietetic advice, foot examination, eye examination and review by diabetes specialist for medical management.
Guests on the occasion included head of Diabetes Unit at Shalamar Hospital Professor Bilal Bin Younis and Pakistan Endocrine Society President Professor Ali Jawa.
