Five injured in blast outside hospital in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A blast has reportedly taken place outside a private hospital in Shinwari Town of Peshawar.

At least five people were injured due to the explosion, who were rushed to the nearby Lady Reading hospital, according to initial reports.

Police authorities reached the site of the incident.

According to initial reports, the explosion sounded like a grenade explosion.

However, the exact nature of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier today police and intelligence agencies, in a joint operation, arrested two terrorists and recovered heavy explosives from their custody.

According to SSP Operations Sajjad Khan, 34 kg of explosives, IEDs, detonators, ball bearings, hand grenades, a battery cell and other ammunition were recovered during the operation, which was conducted in the city’s Yasinabad area.

The SSP also said that the terrorists were planning a major terrorist activity in the city, which was foiled due to the timely operation.
