LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif is adding to the problems of the country because of his lack of experience. He was addressing the JI Shoora at Mansoora.

The JI secretary general said there was no justification for Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to remain in his office after his indictment by the NAB court and he should quit. He said the intransigence of the finance minister to continue in his office would add to the worries of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and also hurt the image of the government.

He further said that the leader of the Opposition in the Assembly was always from the party which had majority in the opposition. He said that the PTI had begun a move for change of the Opposition leader without consultation.

Liaqat Baloch further said that the appointment of the NAB Chairman and the formation of the interim government before the 2018 elections would be two important issues. He said that if the opposition remained divided, the ruling would benefit. Therefore, he said, the opposition parties should unite and evolve a common stance on these constitutional issues.
