RAWALPINDI: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) General Manager (GM) Muhammad Zahoor has said that steps were being taken to ensure uninterrupted gas supply in the Rawalpindi region.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the GM said that many projects of gas supply had been completed and several others were in progress in the region. He added that during the last year, about 30 thousand new connections were installed while 37 thousand demand notices were issued.
The general manager said that to facilitate the consumers, low-pressure gas pipelines would be laid and the one-window operation had also been introduced for resolving the issues faced by the consumers. He further disclosed that five and a half kilometre long, 10-inch diameter gas pipeline was being laid from Sawan to Signal Military College which will improve the gas provision in the said locality.
He informed that in the region, 78 operational lines had been laid while 38,000 complaints were looked into and resolved. The SNGPL official added that the feedback system had been introduced to minimise the problems faced by the gas users and now complaints were resolved within 1 to 8 hours after launching it.
He also assured that the gas consumers would not have to face the problem of low pressure in winter due to the steps which were taken by the SNGPL.
