SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan was a seasoned cricketer but when it came to politics, he was still naive, adding that the former cricketer still has a lot to learn about politics.
While talking to media here, the CM said that a few politicians joined the PTI after its rallies, which led Imran into believing that the entire nation supports him which was wrong.
To a question, regarding the next general elections, the chief minister said that the PTI will also lose few seats that it had managed to win in Sindh.
The CM also expressed resolve to bring international cricket to Karachi and stated that the Sindh government will approach the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for hosting international cricket matches in major cities such as Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
He said that they were fully prepared and the security situation in Karachi was also much improved, adding that he had approached the PCB ahead of the last Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore.
On the matter of Sindh IG AD Khawaja, Shah said that the Sindh High Court’s (SHC) ruling was being implemented. He added that they have their reservations on the ruling but were following the court’s orders.
Later, the CM was briefed on the on-going development schemes in Sukkur.
He also visited the Sukkur Surgical Hospital, Sukkur Girls Hostel of Mahar Medical College, SIUT and Sukkur Sweet Home.
The chief minister was welcomed by the opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, Sindh Minister for Information Sindh Syed Nasir Shah, MNA Noman Islam Shaikh, Sukkur Commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch and others.
