LAHORE- The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has set up electoral butcher shops in Lahore’s NA-120 constituency where the by-election would be held to replace ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The former PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz, in-charge of campaigning in the constituency on behalf of her mother Kulsoom Nawaz, inaugurated the new butcheries during her visit to Data Darbar on Tuesday.
“We will butcher,” Maryam promised the masses while addressing the entire constituency inhabited by over 400,000 people. “We will cut, chop, skin, scalp, hammer… we’ll do the pieces,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz further highlighted that the butcher shops are a reminder of the services that the PML-N has rendered to the locals, and the sacrifice they should make.
“It’s the time to make the sacrifice. Give up what is dear to you,” Maryam said. “Bring it to the altar and put it under the butcher’s knife. Sacrifice your right to vote for anyone else. Sacrifice your choice…”
The PML-N leader also added that the sacrifice made in this voting life would be rewarded in the afterlife.
“You will reap the benefits in the next voting life in 2018,” she said. “And the biggest benefit would be the opportunity to repeat the same sacrifice,” Maryam added.
“So come join us and play the most important part in the butchery.”
