RAWALPINDI: In the wake of Supreme Court’s decision disqualifying the prime minister, Awami Muslim League Chairman Sheikh Rasheed has asked President Mamnoon Hussain to immediately call the national assembly to elect the new leader of the house.
Addressing a public gathering, Rasheed stated that the country will be better run without Nawaz Sharif.
Aiming at PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar, he asked how could he resign now that he is not a minister anymore.
Rasheed added that he had earlier advised Nawaz Sharif to step down preserving his respect but now he neither holds office nor respect.
He further hinted at opposition parties for secretly supporting Nawaz Sharif.
“They presented forged documents and lied to assembly,” he said. “They dragged their deceased father. Then they brought their children in the case”.

Following the announcement of the verdict, Nawaz Sharif resigned with ‘some reservations’ from the prime minister’s post.
