BADIN: After approval of schemes worth rupees 1.9 billion by the Badin District Council, the work on them has been initiated in more than 158 villages of different union councils of the district.
Despite a shortage of the funds, all necessary schemes were approved addressing the discontent and distress of the common masses of the district, said Badin District Council Chairman Ali Asghar Halipoto, while addressing the addressing the general session of the district council on Tuesday at the district council hall.
Addressing the members, he said that he has directed all the towns’ chairmen to take necessary steps to provide the clean drinking water to the people of the district and ensure the maintenance of the drainage system.
In the case of fire incidents, he assured the members of his continued efforts for providing sufficient equipment to the fire brigade. He maintained that for reducing cases of malaria in the district, he would try his best to provide the malaria spray machines to the councils.
He said that the reverse osmosis plants will be installed in different union councils of the coastal belt aiming to provide the filtered and clean water to the common masses of the district, adding, hand pumps of worth Rupees four million would also be provided to the chairmen of the different union councils of district Badin. He said that different schemes of the roads were also being considered to connect the villages and towns for easy access, adding, the health facilities will also be provided to the people of Badin.
On the occasion, members of the district council, including Peeroz Khan Chang, Ameer Hassan Panwhar, Mir Yousif Talpur and others expressed their concerns over the deprivation of the schemes for their union councils.
