Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman Friday said that his government adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption as the opponents had completely failed to prove a single penny financial irregularity during his tenure.

In a statement issued here, the chief minister said criticising an elected government was very simple but proofs were necessary to prove allegations of corruption against any government. He said his government has made top focus on good governance and adopted zero policy against corruption.

The CM said anyone, who had any proof of corruption against his government should come forward and assured that take strict action would be taken. The provincial government was striving hard to provide relief to people of Gilgit Baltistan besides uninterrupted power supply to domestic and industrial consumers.

Work on Diamer Dam had been started by PML-N government and would be completed in its due time frame, he added. The developmental works in all the 10 districts of Gilgit Baltistan was in progress and would be completed within stipulated time without compromising on quality and standards, he said. ‘I have issued instructions to all the departments’ heads in districts to ensure timely completion of different developmental schemes for people’s benefits’.

‘Currently, there is no load shedding in the province and progress of power department is highly satisfactorily’, he explained. The employment situation has been significantly improved and employment opportunities were provided to hundreds of youngsters of Gilgit Baltistan on merit. He requested the local people not to pay heed to opposition’s propaganda and support government for early completion of these projects.
