LAHORE: All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has on Wednesday confessed before anti-corruption unit (ACU) that he failed to inform Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the offers which he got from the bookies.

The PCB, in its verdict on Wednesday, said that a “period of ineligibility/suspension of two (02) months has been imposed on Nawaz (first month suspension has commenced from 16th May 2017), one (01) month of which will be suspended upon fulfilment of additional conditions.”

The cricketer told that bookmakers approached him during the Australia tour, and admitted that it was his big mistake of not reporting the incident to the board.

It has been disclosed after Nawaz’s confession that ACU is happy over his cooperation, and has decided to give him relaxation in the punishment.

Mohammad Nawaz has been banned for one month  and would pay Rs 200,000.
