Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yousuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah arrived in Pakistan on Sunday on a two-day visit.

Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman and Chief of Protocol of Oman were present at the Royal Lounge to bid farewell to the Omani delegation.

The visit comes in response to the invitation extended by Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to Prime Minister of Pakistan on Foreign Affairs, during his visit to Muscat in September last year.

In the intervening period, both sides have witnessed a sustained trajectory in political and parliamentary cooperation highlighted by the visit of H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of State Council who led a parliamentary delegation to Islamabad and a visit to Oman by the Minister for Industries and Production in January and February 2017 respectively. There has been cooperation in the sectors like air services, labour and manpower and oil and gas.

In Islamabad, Alawi will meet with Aziz to discuss an entire gamut of Pakistan-Oman relations, cooperation at multilateral forums and review regional peace and security. He is also scheduled to call on the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and meet minister for ports and shipping.
