KP governor urges medical experts to contribute to country’s development

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng Iqbal Zafar Jhagra urged the medical professionals to contribute towards the development of the nation and the country.

He expressed these views as a chief guest at Peshawar’s Khyber Medical College’s first convocation on Monday.

To serve ailing humanity should be the core aim of the persons associated with the profession of medical sciences, he said.

The institutions of higher learning are the centres of excellence in carrying out research and disseminating knowledge and there is a need to put special efforts upon further promoting research activities, he added.

He stressed that the government, parents of students and the society as a whole have pinned great expectations on the graduating medical professionals.

While highlighting the importance of health profession, the governor said, it is mandatory for health professionals to maintain high moral and professional standards, enhance professional knowledge and skills, and above all work with a commitment to serve the ailing humanity.

Congratulating the young graduates, the governor said that the convocations are the memorable events and they all must feel honoured.

Beside others, Khyber Medical College vice chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Hafizullah, founder of the institution Prof Dr Muhammad Rehman, and the Rehman Medical College principal were also present on the occasion.
