ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in Senate on Tuesday dismissed concerns that the trial of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav did not follow due legal process.
“There was nothing in the [legal] proceedings that was against the law,” Asif told the Senate. “The trial went on for three months.”
Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was given the death sentence after trial for involvement in espionage and sabotage activities in Karachi and Balochistan.
Jadhav was arrested on March 3, 2016, through a counter-intelligence operation in Balochistan’s Mashkel area for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said.
“The spy was tried through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and awarded the death sentence. Today Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed his death sentence awarded by FGCM,” the military’s media wing said.
The accused had been provided with a defending officer as per legal provisions.
Asif said that Pakistan will not grant any concessions to elements working against the security and the stability of the country, “whether they’re operating from inside Pakistan or from outside it”.
The defence minister further said that Government of Pakistan is in a position to deal with all such elements “with an iron fist”.
“We will defend our homeland at all costs,” he added.
So Jadhav is a terrorist for you and Hafiz Saeed?
Hang Hafiz Saeed if you apprehend him on your soil. Till then shut up and get lost.
how come metal scarab business man become raw agent
If u have the proof, make it public. What are u it hiding from if law is followed. Once u execute him and India goes to internationalize it and u fail to provide proof, that’s it.
Untrained legally military officials are judges. LOL. An irony is civilians are tried in military court.
