India threatens Pakistan with 3-match T20 series in retaliation to Yadav death sentence

NEW DELHI –Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said New Delhi will ‘go out of its way’ to save RAW spy Kulbhushan Yadav, whose death sentence has left India with ‘no choice but to target Pakistan with a T20 series.’

While addressing the Indian Parliament, Swaraj said the hanging of Yadav will directly affect the cricket head-to-head of Pakistan and India.

“Yadav is the son of India. To take revenge we have no choice but to play a three-match T20 series against Pakistan,” Swaraj said.

Responding to questions following the Parliamentary session Swaraj maintained that Test matches are out of question.

“T20 is quick in incisive, like a surgical strike,” she said, adding that for the attack to produce desired result the series would have to be played out in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

According to reports, BCCI officials have informed the Indian government that any surgical strikes would have to be postponed till after the ongoing Indian Premier League.

Head of PCB Executive Committee, and PSL Chairman, Najam Sethi says the war would have to be fought in the UAE amidst security concerns in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) minister Subramanian Swamy asked the Indian government to ‘declare Quetta Gladiators as an independent state.’

Speaking to an Indian news channel, Swamy said there is no point in talks with Pakistan, and that New Delhi should just go ahead with its long-held plan of action.

“First the Gladiators will be separated, then Zalmi and then the rest,” he said. “Ultimately Pakistan Super League will end up in four pieces,” he said.
