Education minister holds meeting with dept’s employees

KARACHI: Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Thursday held first of his personal hearing with a select group of the Education Department’s employees in Karachi.

The minister held the meeting to personally assess their exact status, listen to their suggestions and complaints.

The meeting was attended by 17 lecturers, two physical education directors, a librarian and three superintendents from different educational institutions in the province.

“It is our collective responsibility to put an end to absenteeism, corruption and apathy from our ranks,” he emphasised and assured to meet each and every employee of the department from across the province without any failure.

The education minister expressed his displeasure over the absence of three of the lecturers called for the hearing and said, “This will no more be tolerated”.

Dahar said that the Sindh government was committed to providing viable working environment to the teachers and all those associated with the department, in varied capacities.

“We at the same time also expect them to realise their professional obligations with absolute diligence,” he concluded.
