CDA opens Koral Interchange for public

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) opened Koral Interchange for the public, which has eased traffic flow on the Express Way. Upon completion of the remaining work, it will further facilitate the commuters and also to add to the beauty of the city.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) have been putting in all their efforts for timely completion of the project. The prime minister will inaugurate the project hopefully by end of this month.

Islamabad Mayor and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views while inspecting construction work on the site of Koral Interchange project. Member Planning & Design Asad Mehboob Kiyani, project director Koral Interchange and other senior officers of the CDA and the MCI also accompanied the mayor during the visit.

On this occasion, project director apprised mayor that after completion of the structure of the interchange, all loops of the interchange had been opened for traffic after completion. He was informed that construction work on service roads had been completed. He was further briefed that all allied work had been near completion, while installation of street lights and landscaping work was being carried out at a fast pace which would be completed before the inauguration of the project.

Anser Aziz directed to expedite landscaping work of the area. He directed the officers of the environment wing of the MCI to utilise their technical expertise for early completion of the landscaping work. He further directed that installation of street light polls and other allied work must be completed well before the given deadline so that arrangements for its inauguration would be finalised. He said that after completion of Koral Interchange, work on the next phase of Islamabad Expressway, work on Signal Free Corridor would be started.
