- Calls Punjab government’s decision “madness”
Former skipper Imran Khan on Monday voiced concern over Punjab government’s decision of holding the final of the Pakistan Super League’s second edition in Lahore, saying if any blast took place in the provincial metropolis, there will be no cricket in Pakistan for the next 10 years.
In a chat with media, Khan called the Punjab government’s decision “madness” in the wake of recent terrorist attacks in the country. “It is not even an international match so what’s the point of holding it in Lahore,” he questioned.
“It is a terrible idea. We want to hold this match by calling in army and blocking roads and there will be high security. This will not send a good message,” added Khan, who is also the chief of the Pakistan Tehreeke-e-Insaf.
Legendary batsman Javed Miandad also backed Imran Khan’s stance, adding “I have been saying this for the last three days that there is need to hold the final in Lahore owing to security situation”.
MR. khan is right but these corrupt leaders want that no cricket in Pakistan at all these are working on Indian's agenda.
Imran khan this shows that you are a coward person who doesn’t want to take risk. Imran khan sb at least this cowardly comments were not expected from you
Idiot Punjab government under the current situation risking cricket over a non international tournament. They have ruined the remains of cricket already by implanting likes of Najam Sethi n other 80 year old babas n doing nothing to develop cricket infrastructure in Pakistan. We are what #8 ranked team?
