CTD files FIR against Lahore blast suspects

The Counter-Terrorism Department lodged an FIR on Tuesday of the Lahore blast against unidentified saboteurs.

The clauses of terrorism, murder and attempted murder have been made part of the FIR.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the bomber was being abetted by at least three facilitators.

The report said his associates accompanied him till Regal Chowk where police tried to intercept them on being suspicious. However, they could not be nailed as the place was overcrowded.

It is said the bomber aged between 20 to 22 years.

Up to eight kilogrammes of explosives were used in the bomb that left 13 people dead including the city’s top police officers.

According to police, limbs and jaw of the attacker were recovered from the blast site.

The police officials said that the identification process was in progress, with the help of fingerprints.

More clues are being garnered from the blast site for further investigations as Mall Road is still closed for traffic.
