Islamabad Mayor and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz said the restoration of the authority’s credibility and confidence of general public in its policies, flourishing of business activities in the city and making Islamabad cleaner and beautiful was the top priority of the CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).

“If all CDA officials work as team, not only these objectives could be achieved but we would also be able to make Islamabad a model city in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif”, he said.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting with the delegation of CDA Mazdoor Union (CBA). The delegation was led by CDA Mazdoor Union (CBA) General Secretary Chaurdhry Muhammad Yasin. The meeting was attended by the senior officers of CDA and MCI while CDA Mazdoor Union President Aurangzeb Khan, Raja Shakir Zaman Kyani and other office bearers of the CBA were also present on the occasion.

Sheikh Anser Aziz said that not only the genuine issues of the employees would be resolved but diligent workers who are earning good name for the authority would also be awarded with incentives for their encouragement. He said that organisation only prospers, if its employees are hard-working and rendering their services with honesty and dedication, adding that all employees of the CDA and MCI should work with full devotion and utilise their professional expertise so that not only the damaged credibility of the CDA could be restored but it could be made a model organisation.

He said it was fortunate that Prime Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is taking keen interest in transforming Islamabad to model city and the CDA a model organisation. For transforming vision of the prime minister into reality, we all have to utilise our potentials and dedication, the mayor added.

Aziz said that first time in the history of the federal capital, local government system has been established due to which we are facing few hurdles but all the hurdles would be removed by collective efforts.

Earlier, Muhammad Yasin along with his office discussed the issues of employees including conversion of muster roll employees to 89 days basis, promotion issue of CDA employees, withdrawal of notification regarding transfer of weekly bazaars to ICT, up-gradation of basic scales after five years service of CDA employees, payment of prime minister’s package and burial charges, anomaly in various up-gradation cases and construction of site offices for field staff etc.

Sheikh Anser Aziz said that Islamabad administration has been informed that reservations of CDA over administrative control change have been shared with ICT. He also assured to resolve all genuine issues of employees.
