Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore on Thursday.
During the meeting, the matters of mutual interest and promotion of relations among the provinces came under discussion. Both the chief ministers agreed to further promote inter-provincial harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the joint efforts would have to be made for forwarding Pakistan. He said that the stubbornness has caused a great loss to the nation and the country therefore, now, time has come to work for progress and stability of the country by setting aside all the differences.
He said that Pakistan consistsed of four units along with Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir and the country would make progress only when these units would become developed. He said that we have to work jointly for the progress and prosperity of the motherland. ‘Pakistan is our motherland and national unity and brotherhood would have to be promoted for its development, he added. He said that people living in Sindh were our brothers. He said that the Punjab government has also included girl and boy students of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan in its educational programmes which was resulting in promotion of national solidarity and harmony.
Shehbaz Sharif said, ‘We have to make Pakistan stronger through unity and for this purpose, the national interests would have to be given priority over personal interests. He said that all the four provinces of Pakistan and federal government were moving ahead with complete harmony in the war against terrorism. He said that the decisions taken with collective wisdom and joint efforts would prove successful and expressed the hope that Pakistan would become a haven of peace.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed good wishes for Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and also gave a bouquet to him. Later, the Sindh chief minister was seen off by the Punab chief minister at the airport. Syed Murad Ali Shah thanked him for his hospitality.
