The Jammat-e-Islami held a press conference at their federal office here on Monday and claimed that a private property company named Tri Quest is owned and being run by a Member of Administration Capital Development Authority (CDA) Suleyman Warriach. However as per ESTA codes of civil servants, an officer cannot own, run or be a beneficiary of any private business.
Sources said that the Member of Administration was aiming to launch a housing society near Shah Allah Dita.
While talking to Pakistan Today Suleyman said that the land has been in his ownership since 2001; much earlier to his joining the civil service. The lawful asset is declared in the officers annual returns and is reflected in his tax returns filed annually to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Documents available with Pakistan Today reveal that Suleyman Warraich, Ahmed Ibrahim and Imran Azim Butt are the shareholders of the “Tri Quest” company. He is operating the office of “Tri Quest” from Time Square sector F-11 Markaz, Islamabad.
Suleyman belongs to the 30th commons of Trade and Commerce group and is a junior grade 19 officer. As per CDA by laws and regulations at least 3 months of service in the authority are necessary to become a member.
The CDA has also issued a press release clarifying the issue, denying the allegations against the Member Administration CDA by Mr Khalid Bhatti and Zubair Khan in their press conference in Islamabad on November 21, 2016. The spokesperson rejected the allegations on grounds of their contradictions to reality and labelled them malicious.
Suleyman claimed that the press conference was held as retalitation to the CDA’s retrieval of 100 kanals worth billions of rupees.
He said that he had retrieved precious illegally occupied land from land-grabbers worth almost 10 billion rupees in a one and a half month period.
“Zubair khan and Khalid Bhatti have defrauded hundreds of people and are facing NAB enquiries. The Member of Administration has nothing to do with their illegal activities and he has also served a legal notice to them. Using the office of Amir-e-Jamat Zubair khan supervises qabza mafia like Khalid Bhatti to blackmail innocent people and even higher officials such as Members of Administration. The CDA reserves the right to take necessary legal steps to retrieve public lands from all such antistate elements and the present management of the CDA will continue its operation against illegal qabza mafias such as the one of Zubair khan and Khalid bhatti,” claims CDA’s press release.
