HAMID KHAN WAZIR

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has left for London on his three-day visit in a bid to gather more solid and concrete evidence against the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children regarding their assets abroad.

The sources, privy to the development, told Pakistan Today that during his three-day stay in London, Imran Khan will hold meetings with some important personalities there, who will provide him with important evidence regarding Mayfair flats.

The PTI chairman has stated that he wanted to leave for London on a private visit to see his sons, whom he said could not meet them for the last few months due to the prevailing political situation arising out of Panama Papers leak.

However, the visit is of great importance, because PTI Central Secretary Information Naeemul Haq is also accompanying him, while PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi is already there for the last few days.

Besides, Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed, who met Imran Khan at the airport, also left for London in the same flight. Imran Khan has already activated PTI London chapter in this regard and directed the leadership there to speed up the process of accumulating pertinent and solid documentary evidences against the prime minister and his family to further strengthen the Panama case against them.

They said that undoubtedly, the PTI struggled to present its case in the Supreme Court in an effective manner and its leadership was quite confident of getting the desired outcome.

The sources said that the reports regarding changing PTI’s counsel Hamid Khan, leading PTI legal team in the Panama case in Supreme Court, were baseless and it was merely a government’s propaganda, however, the option to reinforce the legal team was under consideration.

It was widely reported in media that the PTI made the mind to change Hamid Khan because he could not present the case in an effective manner in the apex court.

Terming the reports as concocted and absurd, Naeemul Haq said it was nothing but well-planned government propaganda to shift the focus from the Panama issue. He said that no such proposal was under consideration, because the PTI has a strong legal team consisting of lawyers of great repute and wide range expertise, so no question of any change.

The spokesperson requested the media not to air such baseless reports and should focus on the core issue, because the PTI legal team was doing its job tremendously in accordance with the directives of Imran Khan.

According to the PTI central media department, the chairman and Shiekh Rasheed during their meeting at airport discussed various issues relating to Panama case hearing by the Supreme Court.

Imran Khan expressed satisfaction over the Supreme Court’s hearing hitherto and said that the court’s proceeding was heading in the right direction. He said that the premier and his family were badly entangled in the case and they left with no option but to give answers to the questions asked by the nation. He said that the panama case would prove a last nail in the coffin of Nawaz Sharif’s politics.
