India will play against Pakistan in Champions Trophy: Anurag Thakur

Barely two days after he ruled out the possibility of reviving bilateral cricket ties with the neighbouring country, BCCI chief Anurag Thakur said that India would play against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy.

“We’ll play against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. The earlier decision had to be reversed following pressure from ICC,” Anurag Thakur said during in an interview.

In the backdrop of the Uri attack, the BCCI chief Anurag Thakur had on Friday ruled out the possibility of reviving bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan in near future, and even said that considering such a thought was not appropriate.

The BJP MP also said that there was no scheduled series with Pakistan this year. The Champions Trophy would be held in 2017.
